Registered Nurse | 3-month Contract

A fantastic opportunity is now available for a 3-month contract in Mackay under Queensland Health. The contract is from the 30th of October 2023 to the 28th of January 2024.

About the role

Located in the beautiful Mackay region, our client is seeking a Registered Nurse to work in the Coronary Care Unit at Mackay Base Hospital. This 8-bed unit offers care for a variety of patients with acute and chronic heart conditions, and medical patients requiring high dependency care. This includes patients with acute coronary syndromes, heart rhythm disturbances, valvular heart disease or heart failure.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have a demonstrated competence in providing quality nursing care per NMBA standard. You will have highly developed interpersonal communication skills that will not only support you in building strong trusting relationships with patients, but also with your local team.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working in a Coronary Care Unit

• Bachelor of Nursing and Unconditional AHPRA registration

• National Police Clearance

• Full Working Rights in Australia

• BLS/ALS certificates

• Emergency Triage Education Kit (ETEK)

• Manual and patient handling

• Infection control

• Aggressive behaviour management

• Mandatory reporting by Registered Nurses, and/or midwifes for reasonable suspicions of child abuse and neglect.

• Medications management including QPHS (Drugs and Poisons) Regulations November 2012

• Willing to undergo any additional required training/induction material.

Desirable:

• ieMR competency

• Previous experience with QLD Health or Mackay HHS
