About The Role
Based in Mt Isa, this residential treatment facility is initially offering a 3 month contract with a view to going permanent.
Monday to Friday hours are either 09.00- 1700 or 0900 -1600
Dr On-site at all times
All residents are above 18 years of age
Role and Responsibilities
To provide comprehensive withdrawal management to clients and their families
Working as a part of a team committed to continuity of holistic care through strong case management
Clinical assessments, mental and physical health care
Referrals for addiction medical assistance
Supporting clients physical, mental and emotional needs in line with legislation and guidelines
Cultural awareness and sensitivity
Nursing assessment, support and treatment in line with withdrawal management policy and procedures
Support GPs and VMOs as needed
Medication management
Admissions and Discharge
Documentation

What You Need To Be Considered
Sound knowledge of AOD/Gambling, Community Services and Health Sectors, experience working in an Alcohol and Drugs nursing environment OR Practise Nurse and Rehabilitation experience
Ability to work with clients impacted by Mental Health conditions, gambling and substance abuse
Skilled in triage, medical assessment and providing appropriate nursing interventions
Ability to communicate effectively with challenging behaviours
Effective Case and project management
Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds
Experience working with diverse backgrounds and religions
Consistently applying evidence based practise
Mandatory Requirements
AHPRA Registration
Current Police Certificate
Queensland Working With Children Check
Current Influenza Vaccination
Flexibility to work a rotating 24/7 roster
Driving Licence - desired
